The journey begins with an individual visiting a Nadi astrologer, usually from a family lineage that has preserved these ancient palm leaves for generations. The first step involves fingerprint identification. Each person’s thumb impression is unique, and according to Nadi astrology, the thumb impression corresponds to a specific category of palm leaves. For males, the right thumb impression is taken, while for females, the left thumb impression is used. The astrologer carefully studies the patterns of the thumb impression, as each pattern is believed to represent a specific group of souls whose life records are documented on the leaves.

After recording the thumb impression, the astrologer identifies the corresponding bundle of palm leaves. These bundles are meticulously categorized and stored based on the unique thumb patterns. Each bundle contains numerous palm leaves, and it is believed that only one particular leaf in the bundle will match the seeker’s details.
